High School Application

Enrollment is non-competitive and FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED in order to enable a participant-to-faculty ratio of 4:1.

This ensures that every participant has an unparalleled opportunity to improve their technique and musicianship.

2019 APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:

If you are a high school student who has attended KBHC in the past, you do not need to reapply. Simply fill out the online application (coming soon)

Acceptance for participation at KBHC for high school students scheduled to graduate in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 is by qualifying application. You must be at least 14 years of age as of May 31, 2019, presently in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and currently studying horn privately on a regular basis.

The application includes a recording of your performance of three set pieces plus music of your own choice, a short essay on the subject "Why I Wish to Participate at KBHC in 2019" and two recommendations. The application forms are editable PDF files. Save these forms to your computer and then open them with Adobe or other PDF software. Do NOT use the Google Chrome PDF viewer as you will not be able to save or paste your video link into the form.

TUITION

Participants may choose to attend one, two or three weeks:

The first day of each week is an arrival day. The last day of the week is a departure day, allowing 6 full days of instruction each week. Multi-week participants have two free days between sessions.

COST: $1,995 per week

Extra day(s): $78 each. You may arrive a day early for any week and/or stay an extra day at the end of weeks 1 and 2. Please note that if you choose to not stay at Ogontz there is no discount for not staying on campus.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Application deposit: $200 per week. Deposit is required with application; if you are not accepted, the deposit will be refunded. Deposit checks should be made out to 'Cormont Music' and mailed to:

the address below. Balance is due by May 1, 2019. There is a $50 late fee for payments received after this date.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION:

A limited number of one week scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to high school and college students. You may apply for (in the case of HS students) or reserve (in the case of college students) a place at camp if you are set in your plans to participate regardless of scholarship outcome.
