Alexis Lovelady

Alexis Lovelady, hornist, is a Teaching Assistant under the instruction of Dr. John Ericson at Arizona State University, where she is working toward the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Alexis earned a Master of Music in Horn Performance in the spring of 2016 from the University of Florida under the instruction of Paul Basler. Prior to attending the University of Florida, Alexis graduated magna cum laude with the Bachelor of Science in Music degree from The University of North Alabama. Her primary teachers include Dr. Paul Basler, Dr. David McCullough, and Mark Gessner. Alexis is an alumna of the Kendall Betts Horn Camp (2016, 2017).

Alexis regularly performs as a solo, orchestral, and chamber musician. She currently performs with the Arizona State University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra. She previously held the position of principal horn in the University of Florida Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and Symphonic Brass. She served as third horn in the Ocala Symphony Orchestra in the 2015-2016 season and performed regularly with the Gainesville Orchestra, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, Gainesville Brass Quintet, and as a freelance musician. Alexis currently lives in Tempe, Arizona with her husband, trumpeter Aaron Lovelady. In January of 2018, Alexis won a position in the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, where she will begin working in the fall.
