Boonton-Mountain Lakes- Boonton Township-Lincoln Park
Commissioner's Corner
American, National and Continental Managers
2008 has brought us more pitching rules to protect our young player's arms. So that we all understand them, I have listed the major pitching rules below. There are also many other pitching and playing rules. Please consult your rule book for further information.
(1) Once a player pitches (even a single pitch) in a game, they can no longer play the catcher's position for the rest of the day.
(2) Each player is allowed a maximum number of pitches in a day. These maximums are set by the league age (age as of April 30, 2008) of the pitcher.
11 & 12 year olds: 85 pitches per day
9 & 10 year olds: 75 pitches per day
7 & 8 year olds: 50 pitches per day
(3) Once a player has pitched, there are mandatory rest periods that must be followed. This rest period is directly related to the number of pitches thrown in the game. Rest can be both calendar days as well as 'game' rest.
61 or more pitches: 3 calendar days rest AND a game rest
41 - 60 pitches: 2 calendar days rest AND a game rest
21 - 40 pitches: 1 calendar day rest
1 - 20 pitches: No rest required
I have instituted a new simple procedure so that we all know of a particular pitcher's availability.
To prevent any confusion, each manager will email (TritownLL@Aol.com) with the following information for each game. This information will be posted on this web site scores.

Primarily, Bantam I consists of our 6 year olds, Bantam II our 7 year olds and Bantam III our 8 year olds. However, each child is evaluated to determine in which division they will best be served and will enjoy the most.
