June 16, 2008 Dear Manager/Owner, A group of concerned friends with the help of many different volunteers from the Northwest Soccer Community are holding a 3 vs 3 Soccer Tournament Saturday, July 26 from 9:00 to 5:00 to benefit The Kicking It For Kids Foundation. As many of you are aware we held a 4 vs 4 tournament last year to benefit Abby Johnson and her family and with the help of the extended community were able to raise $5000.00 for her family. We have decided to extend the fundraising to benefit local families by starting the Kicking It For Kids Foundation (tax ID # 26-2870526). This year is in honor of Paul Hafner who grew up in Perrysburg and played youth soccer with Perrysburg Youth Soccer Association, the Perrysburg Soccer Club, the Toledo Celtic and was a member of St. Johns High School team. He passed away several years ago and his family is helping to start this Foundation in order to help many families. We are looking for any type of donation to help make this event successful. We are looking for concession stand items, volunteers, tables, tents, cardboard trash cans and ice. Monetary donations are always welcome too. We have a Goal Sponsor for $50.00 We are trying as a soccer community to instill in the youth that we can all come together and help our own community. Paul Hafner Memorial 3v3 Soccer Benefit Saturday, July 26, 2008/Sunday July 27, 2008 rain date. Benefiting "Kicking It For Kids" Registration due by Saturday, July 19, 2008. Tournament Director Ian Graham Modified USSF rules. Division Guidelines-Teams will be placed into divisions based on age gender and playing level. Age is determined by as it is for NWOYSL. The Tournament reserves the right to combine age groups depending on the total number of teams in a particular division. Each team will play at least 3 games. With the top two teams playing in the final. Age Divisions (boys and girls) U8 must be under 8, as of 9/1/08 U9 must be under 9 as of 9/1/08 U10 must be under 10 as of 9/1/08 U11 must be under 11 as of 9/1/08 U12 must be under 12 as of 9/1/08 U13 must be under 13 as of 9/1/08 U14 must be under 14 as of 9/1/08 Competitive Men's Open Competitive Women's Open Coed-Coaches/parents We are also adding three adult divisions. Men's competitive, women's competitive and coed-coaches/parents. This should help separate the different levels of play. TEAM REGISTRATION($60 per Team) Team forms and player registration forms, must be completed by deadline. A roster and medical authorization/liability waiver is required for each player at check-in. Any team playing with illegal players may forfeit a game. Roster changes must be made before the first game. NUMBER OF PLAYERS Each team must have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6. Teams consist of 3 field players. Players may only play on one team in the Tournament. TEAM UNIFORMS All players must wear jerseys/shirts during play and each team must bring a light and dark colored jersey/shirt. FIELD DIMENSIONS The playing field is 30 yards long by 25 yards wide with small- side goals (Pugg goals). GAME START AND DURATION The games will start and end with a sound of the horn. The game shall consist of 2 /12 minute halves separated by a 2-minute half time. Visitors will have the choice to kick-off or side of field. SUBSTITUTIONS Subs may enter on the fly. GOAL SCORING A goal may be scored from anywhere on the field of play either by an offensive or defensive touch. Not off kick-ins. DIVISION STANDINGS All division standings shall be determined by the following point system: win=3 points, tie=1 point and a loss=0. 1. Head to head 2. Goals against 3. Goals scored (max. 6) 4. Goal differential 5. Rock paper scissors best out of 3. U8-U12 size 4 ball/U13-Open size 5 ball. NO OFFSIDES NO SLIDE TACKLING 5-YARD RULE on all dead balls KICK OFFS can either go forward or back. KICK -INS/DRIBBLE IN-the ball will be kicked in, not thrown in. Goals cannot be scored from kick-ins. Players may also dribble the ball in and can score once touched. CORNER KICKS-USSF rules. IN-DIRECT KICKS-all dead balls are indirect, except handballs, which will be taken from half field with the rest of the players at half field. The ball is live after the kick is taken. Un sportsman like behavior from anyone will not be tolerated and may be asked to leave. REFS-there is none. Players will call their own fouls and out of bounds.
