The 2011-12 Super League regular season will begin October 10th and end January 2. Playoffs will begin January 9 and end January 30. There will be no curling the week of October 24th due to the Cactus Pheasant Classic World Curling Tour. As well, there will be no curling on December 26th. -Games are 8 ends in length and begin at 7 PM. A win is worth two points and a loss is worth 0 points. An extra end will be played in the event of a tie to determine the winner. -Normal Canadian Curling Club rules apply for 8 end games. -Hammer will be decided with a draw to the button. Any member of the team can throw the rock. Sweepers are allowed. Playoffs: 1st round - January 9 @ 7 PM 2nd round - January 16 @ 7 PM 3rd round - January 23 @ 7 PM Final - January 30 @ 7 PM The top 6 teams will make the Super League Championship playoffs and the remaining 6 teams will play off in the consolation. At the end of the year if there is a tie in the standings, wins against each other will determine the ranking. The Championship and Consolation will be played off using the modified page system. The first round will be: 1v2, 3v6, 4v5. In the second round the winner of the 3v6 will play the winner of the 4v5. In the third round the winner of the previous game will play the loser of the 1v2 game. The fourth round will be the final. *throughout the playoffs the team with the better record will have choice of hammer or rock colour. Re-qualifications: -The bottom 4 teams in the regular season standings (before January 9) will have to re-qualify for the 2012-2013 season. |
