The Person County Recreation, Arts and Parks Department will be having team registration for its upcoming Women's Adult Slow Pitch Softball League May 11th through June 1, 2009.
This is a league that encourages women of all ages to come out and enjoy some fun, while getting that much needed exercise after being stuck inside all winter.
Coaches are asked to come by the Recreation Department to register their team and pick up necessary roster information forms. Players must be 16 by October 16, 2009.
If you do not have a team, please call the Recreation Department and your name will be added to a list. If enough players sign up a team can be formed. There will be two divisions if enough teams sign-up.
The season is scheduled to start June 22, 2009.
Rosters, player contract forms and entry fee deadline for all teams will be June 1, 2009 and you will not be considered in the league until all paperwork and entry fee has been received. Entry Fee will be $425.00 with a 10 game schedule and a double elimination tournament at the end of the regular season. Two officials will be used during games. Non-Resident fee is $30.00 for adults and $20.00 for youth 18 and under.
There will be a limit of five (5) home runs per team per game. Eleven-inch (11") .44 COR softballs will be used by all players and will be the team's responsibility to provide their own softballs. NSA rules will be applied to this league. All games will be held at Sansbury on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Southern Middle School Ball Field will be an alternate field for games.
