7/29/2008 5:22:19 PM The Hawks won their 2nd national tournament game 3-1 over the St. Louis Classics. Jordan Halata went 2 for 3 and struck out 4 during the game. Lauren Burgstresser went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI, and Kalli Tobias, Natalie Murray, and Kelsey Obzera each added a hit. 7/29/2008 5:19:25 PM The Hawks lost their first game at the national tournament 7-3 to the Wisconsin Bandits. Brittnie Boerema went 3 for 3 with a single, double, home run, and 3 RBI. Kalli Tobias went 2 for 3, and Morgan Kramerich and Jordan Halata each added a hit. Julie Domzalski had wonderful relief work giving up only 1 unearned run and striking out 3. 7/23/2008 1:30:49 PM The Hawks will be playing a triple header on Saturday in Oak Lawn at 11, 1245, and 215. They will then be departing Sunday morning for the national tournament. 7/23/2008 1:29:54 PM This past weekend the Hawks finished in 5th winning their first 2 games of elimination play on Sunday. In the first game against the Illinois Bandits (4-1 Victory)Kelsey Obzera received the win striking out 3 and only giving up 1 earned run. Natalie Murray, Tori Spears, and Brittnie Boerema each went 1 for 3; and Kelsey Obzera went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. In game 2 vs. the Illinois Thunder (3-2 Victory) Jordan Halata received the win with 4 strike outs and also added 2 hits. Morgan Kramerich, Tori Spears (RBI), Brittnie Boerema, Brittany Bochenek, and Trina Grande each went 1 for 3, and Sydni Benton went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs. In game 3 the Hawks lost 7-1 to a good Midland Magic team. Morgan Kramerich, Tori Spears, and Natalie Murray had the only 3 hits for the Hawks. 7/18/2008 1:52:53 PM We have qualified for the 18u ASA National in Moline and will be leaving Sunday morning following a 5 game round robin in Oak Lawk on Friday and Saturday. The website for this tournament is www.molineasa.com. 7/18/2008 1:51:47 PM For the upcoming week our schedule is as follows... double header at Peaks Park in Worth against Hawks Narotski and the 18u Sparks on fields 3 and 2 beginning at 5:30. We then have practice at 9:45 am at the Homer Sports Compex on Thursday. 7/18/2008 1:50:22 PM We play next in Burr Ridge on Friday at 7:00pm. The remaining 3 games of pool play will be at 8:00am, 9:30am, and 1:00pm on Saturday the 19th followed by a single elimination tournament beginning Sunday morning. We play on Friday Morning at 8:30 am vs. DTA Mustangs on field #2 and then depending on win/lose we play again at 10 am. They went 3-1 in tournament play and were in the 5th game when the tournament was cancelled due to weather. In pool play the Lady Hawks tied both games in games against some tough opponents. In game 1 vs. the Michigan Bombers the 18U Black tied 4-4, with Tori Spears going 1-3 with an RBI, Brittnie Boerema went 1-2 with a 2 RBI Home run, and both Morgan Kramerich and Kallie Tobias went 1-2. In game 2 vs. the McHenry Heatwave the Hawks tied 0-0 with Brittnie Boerema going 2-2, and Tori Spears, Natalie Murray, and Brittany Bochenek each delivery one hit. In game 3 vs. the Indiana Outcast we won 11-2. Trisha Dugan went 2-2 with an RBI. Brittnie Boerema (3 RBI), Natalie Murray (RBI), Jenny Festin (RBI), and Kelsey Obzera (3 RBI) all went 2-3, while Trina Grande went 1-2 with an RBI. It was a great game with the bats on fire. In game 4 was another win vs. the Winamac Silver Streaks by a core of 8-1. Sydni Benton went 1-2 with 3 RBI, and Tori Spears went 2-3 with 2 RBI. Morgan Kramerich, Kristen Priessler, Brittnie Boerema, and Natalie Murray (2 RBI) each added a hit. Game 5 vs. the Illinois Angels we won 5-4. Tori Spears and Kristen Priessler (3 RBI) went 2-2. Jenny Festin went 1-2. In game 6 vs. the Michigan Bombers, the Black lost a tough one be a score of 9-6. Kristen Priessler went 1-2 with a grand slam, while Tori Spears, Natalie Murray, and Kallie Tobias each added a hit. All of the pitchers, Kelsey Obzera, Sydni Benton, and Julie Domzalski did a great job for us on the mound battling the conditions! |
