2009 Addendum
A. Umpire contingency: If the umpire has not arrived 10 minutes past official game start time, the game will begin. Each team will umpire it's own turn at bat (the batting team will call balls and strikes, safe or out, etc.) B. Scorekeeping contingency: this year the league is providing paid scorekeepers/field supervisors. They will keep the official scorebook and determine if the game is to be postponed or cancelled due to inclement weather. If the paid scorekeeper is not there, these responsibilities fall to the home team. C. Approximately halfway through the season, the ball color will change from white to optic yellow. All other specifications for the ball remain the same. D. Forfeits: every attempt is to be made to play the scheduled game. As much advanced notice as possible should be given if a team cannot field enough players to play. A pattern of forfeiting games will cause that team to lose eligibility for play the following year. E. The "quick pitch" is illegal in this league. Every attempt should be made by the pitcher to deliver a pitch to a prepared batter. Deliberate stalling by the batter will result in a penalty (called strike/out).
